ABOUT BARGARA AND SURROUNDS

Bargara is the largest of the Bundaberg region’s coastal towns and is just a 15 minute drive from the Bundaberg city centre.

Bargara features an abundance of dining options within walking distance of Bargara Gardens Motel and Holiday Villas. There are also a range of specialty stores close by and a major supermarket a little further down the road. Parks, including the award-winning Turtle Tracks Playground, are nearby as are several beaches and two still water swimming areas. Have fun feeding the fish at The Basin at the northern end of Kelly’s Beach.

The streetscape around the Esplanade and Bauer St intersection is an attractive public area of walkways, decks, playgrounds, and picnic areas. The nearby restaurants and cafes also offer a fantastic al fresco experience.

For those looking for something more active, Bargara has excellent walking and cycling paths, an 18 hole golf course, lawn bowls, and great diving and snorkelling locations.

The nearby city of Bundaberg is also home to a number of attractions celebrating some Queensland icons including Bundaberg Rum, Bert Hinkler, and Bundaberg Ginger Beer.
